Undergraduate Program

Students with Renee Eaton and antamoge table

HNFE has two undergraduate options for study:

HNFE has the second highest enrollment of degree-granting majors at Virginia Tech.  Our unique course offerings develop students who  have a strong foundation of knowledge, excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to critique and analyze research within the field. Our students are well-prepared to pursue careers in health care professions, research, and related fields.

We are a restricted major that requires students to maintain certain grade and GPA standards.

HNFE's undergraduate options are only offered on the Blacksburg campus. Please see the Virginia Tech Timetable of Classes for more information about courses, including online options.

Highlights of our program:

  • 60 to 70 percent of alumni are accepted into professional/graduate programs post-graduation
  • Funded undergraduate research opportunities
  • 46 percent of our undergraduates are on the Dean's List

We support student involvement in extra-curricular opportunities and individual learning experiences outside the classroom, recognizing that these activities promote leadership skills, networking, lifelong learning, and a commitment to community service.
