HNFE has outstanding and dedicated faculty and staff who provide services to the fifth largest undergraduate program at Virginia Tech, and together, we are working to build HNFE into an internationally recognized department.
To enhance student learning, the department has added new programs and options for both our undergraduates and graduates:
- In our new advanced anatomy and physiology course, students now use a virtual 3D human anatomy dissection table.
- As part of the college’s online master’s program in agriculture and life sciences, HNFE has an option in applied nutrition and physical activity.
- A master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics was recently approved by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors, and students are enrolled for this fall.
- HNFE will be part of a living-learning community on campus that will strive to model and shape a culture of health, wellness, and related areas on campus. Our department is committed to expanding academic offerings and advancing research while maintaining our level of excellence to our students.
Overall, we are delighted with our progress!
