The department offers graduate-level studies on the Blacksburg campus related to nutrition, physical activity, and health promotion through master's and doctoral degrees in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. In addition, HNFE has an accelerated undergraduate program for exceptional students who wish to start, and double-count, HNFE courses during their senior year and finish the master's degree with an additional year of study.
The department offers a Master's of Nutrition and Dietetics degree, which prepares graduates to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs). The program is an ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) accredited program.
The Applied Nutrition and Physical Activity concentration in the Online Master of Agriculture and Life Sciences degree (OMALS APNA) is designed for students with a science, health-related, community, or education background who wish to advance and expand their nutrition and physical activity knowledge and skills.
