Glucose and Insulin Tolerance Test (GTT and ITT)
Mice are fasted before the test (usually overnight for GTT and four hours for ITT)

  • A droplet of blood will be collected from tail vein as time point 0.
  • Pharmaceutical grade of either dextrose solution (2g/kg) or human porcine insulin (1U/kg) will be injected i.p.(intraperitoneal) to mice based on the individual body weight.
  • Blood samples will be collected after injection at 15min, 30min, 60min, 90min, and 120min for GTT; or at 15min, 30min, 45min, and 60min for ITT.
  • Blood glucose will be measured by glucometer.
